Under the hood: sign-in, the feed, search, and signups

One month in, the engine behind the app moved from a concept to a prototype.

• Real sign-in. Accounts are verified on every request, and new members are able to build their profile based on their preferences.
• Ranked feed. Opportunities are scored by urgency, your interests, distance, availability fit, and recency. Users have full control over what they see, avoiding clutter and ensuring only the most valuable posts reach your eyes.
• Search and map. Find opportunities based on specific keywords, or by scanning the map of your area.
• Signups with safeguarding built in. Open roles confirm instantly. Screened roles, such as children's ministry, visitation, and transportation, hold for administrator approval.
• Admin queue. Church and organization admins approve volunteers and membership requests from one place.

The rules match our convictions: anyone can create an account and register for events, while churches stay in control of what is public and what is members-only.
